How to Make My Version of a Green Smoothie

Again, we’re really bad at keeping up with this blog because we both work a lot/ are suffering through summer school. But again, we do regularly keep up with our Instagram!!! (a plug)

ANYWAY.

With summer here comes fruit season, where all the best fruits are at their prime which promotes GREAT SMOOTHIES. I’ll be trying to make blog posts about different smoothies I’ll be making throughout the summer, but as mentioned earlier we suck at keeping up with this, so emphasis on TRY. ha ha ha.

To begin with, I’m gonna show you how I’ve been making my go to green smoothie that I’ve been drinking literally every morning for breakfast for the past week!

When I was at my local Walmart looking for stuff to put into my smoothies, I came across the frozen fruit aisle, which then featured FROZEN SMOOTHIE PACKS??? I was like yo this is gonna make my life so much easier. And so I bought a bag. For a bag of 4 servings it only cost me $5. FIVE. DOLLARS. Trust, that’s hella cheap. To try them out, I bought the green smoothie pack. It contains banana, kale, green melon, orange, apples, and acerola fruit.

It took me a few tries to perfect the green colour because I did add almond butter to my smoothie, which in turn made it brown/yellow. BUT I GOT IT NOW AND I WANT TO SPREAD THE WORD.

So first we add a cup of the frozen smoothie cubes.

Next, we add half a cup of almond milk, but I suggest closer to a cup since it’s going to thicken up with the almond butter.

Then, we add a spoonful of Moringa leaf powder. This is a superfood green powder that’s packed with antioxidants and doesn’t taste bad in smoothies!!! I found this gem at my local Marshalls.

This makes the smoothie more green, counteracting the brown colour that the almond butter will make.

And of course, the almond butter!!

Blend it up and that’s it!!! It only takes about five minutes to make so it’s still good for those rushed mornings too.
